Better Vision. Better Hearing. Better Georgia.

Vision or Hearing Screenings
The Lions Lighthouse Foundation provides vision and hearing screenings for groups and events throughout Georgia. These screenings help educate individuals about their visual acuity, risk for eye disease, and to judge any hearing loss they may have suffered with age.
If your Lions Club would like to do a vision or hearing screening, please contact Laura at lgriffin@lionslighthouse.org.
Vision Screenings
Vision Screenings help community members assess their visual acuity and their risk for certain eye diseases. You can help educate your community by hosting a vision screening.
Why should my Lions Club host a vision screening?
Because it’s a win-win for the Community, Lighthouse, and your club! This program will promote the importance of vision health and offer Lions Clubs an important and convenient community service project. It gives exposure for Lions and the Lighthouse through the media’s interest in community health.

If your club is interested in hosting a vision screening please contact Laura at lgriffin@lionslighthouse.org. If it is your first time using the screening machines, she will set up a date and time for your training. If the vision screeners are shipped to you, we ask that you please ship them back as soon as possible. Thank you!
Hearing Screenings
Audiologists and hearing instrument specialists hear again and again that their patients had no idea how bad their hearing was until they got hearing aids. By providing a hearing screening, you can help someone detect hearing loss in its earlier stages, so they do not have to live as long in a muted world.
Hosting a Hearing Screening is a great way for Lions to get involved with the Lighthouse Foundation. The Lighthouse Foundation provides hearing aid assistance and hearing loss education and awareness to Georgians. We could really use your help with getting the word out about hearing loss. Lions can help us do this by hosting an annual hearing screening in their community. The best place to do this is the local senior center or church health fair. It is our goal to host about three screenings per month. So please consider adding a hearing screening to your club’s annual calendar.
How do you host a hearing screening?
1. Designate a lions club member to organize the hearing screening
2. Get training to use the equipment.
3. Designate the location, date, and time. Hearing screenings have to be conducted in a very quiet area with or without a power outlet. The hearing screening equipment may be operated with AA batteries.
4. Contact Laura Griffin at the Lighthouse Foundation to reserve the equipment. The equipment may be picked up from the office or delivered via UPS. If delivered via UPS, please return to the Lighthouse via UPS.
Please contact Laura Griffin at 404-325-3630 x 332 or at lgriffin@lionslighthouse.org if you are interested in hosting a hearing screening in your community. Thank you!
