Better Vision. Better Hearing. Better Georgia.

Why Give?

Last year the Lions Lighthouse Foundation provided vision and hearing services to over 7,500 Georgians.  This year we have seen a 30% increase in applications as a result of rising unemployment.  Your donation gives services to an uninsured or underinsured neighbor that help them regain their independence and return to work.

Every dollar you give to the Lighthouse becomes $5 in medical services.  This return on your investment is possible because we partner with an amazing group of doctors who greatly discount their services.  For example, the Lighthouse pays $1,000 for a surgery that would normally cost $5,000, and it is free for the patient.
  • If you donate $25 to the Lighthouse, you supply a pair of glasses.
  • $50 gives a dilated eye exam.
  • $500 returns someone their hearing with a digital hearing aid.
  • $1,300 pays for a sight-saving cataract surgery or retinopathy.
The Lighthouse operates at 6 percent overhead, so $0.94 of every dollar you give goes directly to our vision and hearing programs.  The following graphic illustrates the breakdown:
