A Clear Plan for the Future This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation. To ensure the organization's continued growth and strength, a five-year strategic plan was recently adopted to identify priority goals for the future. Among the key strategic objectives are to increase vision and hearing services and ensure the organization has sufficient financial resources and infrastructure to support program growth. The Lighthouse's current facility presents a major obstacle to these strategic goals. Virtually every inch of the 4,450 square foot building has been maximized. With many clients facing a six-month wait for services, there is an increasing urgency to further expand program capacity. To sustain the growing operations, the Lighthouse will need to engage more volunteers and staff, yet the offices are too cramped to house additional workers. The Lighthouse simply cannot continue to grow as an organization without a larger home. The board and executive leadership of the Lighthouse have explored several expansion scenarios, including options to remain at the current location. Following an extensive search of properties, an ideal new home has been found. given the current market, the Lighthouse has the opportunity to purchase the property at a premium value and has acted quickly to secure the site.
