Throughout sixty years of service, the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation has brightened the lives of thousands of Georgians with the gift of restored sight and hearing. The unfortunate reality is that more and more Georgians are struggling to pay for basic needs, let alone costly health care expenses. As the economy continues to struggle, the demand for the Lighthouse's services will intensify, all at a time when we are unable to meet the existing need. Following several years of strategic, significant programmatic growth, the Lighthouse is poised for a strong future. The need for services is urgent. The business model is sound. The Lighthouse is bucking the trend many nonprofits are facing by reaching out to new partners and new constituents. The new building presents and ideal opportunity for expansion at a time when the organization is strong and the need for services is more urgent than ever. The Lighthouse has planned well, completing appropriate due diligence to ensure the new facility is cost effective and sustainable. With the purchase of several strategic equipment needs, the Lighthouse will be able to expand its in-demand eye clinic services while economizing optical costs.
